Convocation Summer ( late July/early August) Event: We discussed holding our annual
event to benefit the Oregon Food Bank at McMinnamins in Forest Grove, and it was
moved and seconded that the convocation support this day. Paul Brodie suggested that
each parish get involved through their Outreach committees, with the hope that the
parishes will help financially support this event. It was moved and seconded that Paul
be reimbursed for expenses personally incurred from last summer's event and the vote
was unanimous to do so.

Concerns of the Parishes:
St. Barnabas - the Youth Group is no longer active.
St. Francis - financial crisis: walls crumbling, bell tower collapsed, furnace fire.
Christ Church - needs volunteers for weekly potluck in the park.
St. Gabriel - concern that diocese does not have a strategic plan to help
congregations and that there is a lack of communication in benchmarking how the
parishes are doing.
St. John the Baptist - needs an associate rector.
Fr. Roy suggested that the parishes within the convocation share what works for them -
what their strong points are; perhaps even having outside speakers at our meetings.
Koko Sutton spoke of a presenter at a Diocesan Leadership Workshop who spoke
on the subject of solving problems - "Six Thinking Hats".
The meeting closed with prayer led by The Rev. LouAnn Pickering.
Respectively submitted:
Mary Dorscheimer
Convocation Secretary
